06/10/19 – Cineasta Digital was founded on the idea that if you want to succeed at the highest level, you must be willing to fail at the highest level. Only then can your creativity be truly challenged and maybe, just maybe, you are part of something that stands just a bit above the rest. In only six short years, Cineasta Digital Productions has been a part of almost a dozen different programs that have either been nominated for or have won an Emmy award. And finally in 2016, Cineasta’s own, Dean Camara, was awarded his first Sports Emmy, through NFL Films, for the cinematography on HBO’s Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Los Angeles Rams.
In May of this year, NFL Films brought home several more National Sports Emmy’s for several different projects, including one for Outstanding Camera Work for Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Cleveland Browns. Dean’s name was once again listed as a contributing cinematographer among others.
“Just to see my name on the list along with great friends and colleagues that’s what really special because it reminds you of the time on the project and memories it created.” says Dean Camara. “It’s just funny to think of the path my career has taken, through the ups and downs, to just be in a position where the work you do is recognized at that level.”
The Emmy news doesn’t stop there, on a regional level, a Pac12 Network story in which the Cineasta Digital team contributed to, took home a regional Emmy this past June. Produced by Adam Vaughn and the Pac12 Network, the “Savanah Rennie Story”, was a triumphant story of a Cal Berkeley Volleyball player who faced seemingly unsurmountable odds with several rare illnesses that still could not keep her off the court.
“Six years ago, I had the opportunity to change the course of my career, to finally work on the projects that resonated with me, make a living while doing it or find another career!” says Dean, “Accolades like Emmy’s, regional or otherwise, just validates my career decisions, and the many blessings I’ve had along the way, including the many talented folks I get to work with.”
Dean and the Cineasta team are not resting or basking in any glow, they are already in production and post production on a variety of projects. Tune in to the Cineasta FB page for the latest.
“If you do something and it turns out pretty good, then you should go do something else wonderful, not dwell on it too long. Just figure out what’s next.” – Steve Jobs
